Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) has made noticeable achievements
in scientific research and development. XJTU has 10 national
key research bases, 6 ministerial key research bases,
13 provincial key research bases, 3 open laboratories
as well as a number of the university's laboratories and
institutes. With these advanced experiment equipments
and facilities, over 100 achievements are made every year.
XJTU, with more than 1,500 scientific and technological
prizes granted by the government since 1980 including
3 international prizes and 136 national prizes, is ranking
the top in universities and colleges in China. With its
preponderance in research and talents, XJTU has been reinforcing
the cooperation between teaching, research and industries,
carrying out various activities in basic research, applied
research and developmental research across disciplines
and thus has formed a fairly integrated system for R&D.
National research programs were commissioned to XJTU constantly
producing remarkable achievements. For example, the first
chip with complete intellectual property right in our
country for intelligent visual processing produced by
Institute of Human Intelligence and Robots of XJTU, the
development of nanadevices made on carbon nanotube mini-sensor,
the first DME automobile with super-low exhaust and powered
with completely clean fuel, whose exhaust level meets
Europe's 3rd standard, the temperature difference in heat
transfer on the new condensation evaporator which got
the lowest among similar products and raised the design
index by 50%.
