Job Resume
Guo Xiong, male, born in Jul 1953, a party member, a professor of surgery, and a PhD mentor, graduated from medical treatment department of Xian medical College. Currently, he serves as the superintendent of local disease research institute under the medical college of Xian Jiaotong University, pluralizing the director of clinical epidemic research room, the director of environment and endemic disease key lab of ministry of education, a standing director of Shaanxi rheumatology branch academy of China Medical Association, a standing director of Shaanxi endemic disease branch academy of China Medical Association, the assistant commissary of Xian osteoporosis and bone mine salt academy of China Medical Association.
Academy and Scientific Findings
Mainly engaged in the diagnosis of endemic, original disease, and osteoarthritis, the prevention and the pathogenesis research, he has taken part in the observation of effect for preventing osteoarthritis through adding selenium and research of the relationship between low selenium and osteoarthritis, which is a part of the state's "sixth-five" and "eighth-five" science and technology research for solving the key problem of osteoarthritis.
Since 1987, he has been funded by many organizations and entities, such as: the Shaanxi youth science fund, Shaanxi science fund, Ministry of Health scientific research fund, Germany science fund and National Nature Science Fund. He carried out an inspection of effect through compounding treatment with zinc gluconate and sodium selenite for the osteoarthritis. He has finished many collaborating projects with Germany, America and some projects for state, province and ministry.
In 1996, he went to Erlangen-Numbeg University Germany for advanced study and co-research. From Nov 2001 to Dec 2002, he was in Rockefeller University for academic intercommunication and cooperating research. He attended the forty-second Nobel convention for medicine owner and many other international academic seminars. His co-research with twelve military hospital on the disease of Sha Yi Wa Ke, a new genetic disease of Osterochondropathy, won the second-rank prize of science and technology achievement from General Rear Service Ministry of China people's liberation army. He was honored a subject leader of the century in 1997 by Xian Medical College, an honored excellent fellow returning back from abroad in 1998 and 2001 and also obtained the special allowance from State Council in 2000.
He has released, in Chinese or English, 136 academic thesis in domestic and international magazines, among which he is the first author for 64 thesis, join compilation for two works. His representative ones are The research on the phenotypic expression of osteroarthrosis and the articular cartilage cell and the research on the cartilage cell abnormality differentiation published by China pathology magazine, in 1998. Diagnostic,clinical and radiological characteristics of Kashin-Beck Disease in Shaanxi Province, P. R. China collected by International Orthopaedics(SICOT). SCI in 2001, Effects of excessive fluoride ingestion in rats on differential expression of collagen types and chondrocyte differentiation in cartilage collected by Fluoride SCI in 2002 and so on.
