应管晓宏教授的邀请，犹他州立大学（Utah State University）Paul A. Wheeler教授来我校进行学术访问。他的研究涉及Digital Systems, Networking and Signal Processing, Acoustics Systems等研究领域。Paul A. Wheeler教授将主要结合最近关于Acoustics of Musical Instruments的研究成果，进行以下学术报告；
    学术报告主题：
    1) An Acoustic Study of the Brazilian Cuica: a signal analysis of the performance of a friction drum called the cuica to determine the subtle musical elements of the player.
    2) Acoustic Matching of the Bars and Resonators on the Indonesian Gender: making acoustic measurements of the Javanese metalophone to evaluate the construction and coupling of the bars and resonators.
    3) Introduction about USU and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

    Paul A. Wheeler教授简介： Paul A. Wheeler教授为声音信号处理领域著名专家，毕业于Brigham Young University，于1978年获Electrical Engineering专业博士学位，现为犹他州立大学教授，并担任Electrical and Computer Engineering系主任。
