    Developments in materials for microwave antenna and shielding applications Dr David Linton Deputy Director, High Frequency Electronics Group (HFEG) Queens University ECIT, Belfast, UK www.ecit.qub.ac.uk ;Talk Summary Industry today requires radio frequency antennas and systems which are extremely broadband. It also needs antennas which are more compact and offer superior performance compared to conventional RF technology. After a brief overview of the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology, this talk will focus on the integration of new metamaterial structures with advanced RF system design for applications in RFID, retro-directive arrays, frequency selective surfaces at sub-terahertz frequencies and integrated millimeter wave packaging. The use of carbon fibre composites (CFCs) for improved broadband electromagnetic shielding will also be addressed. Throughout the talk the work of the team will be demonstrated with examples of the measurement and fabrication facilities available. 
    David Linton 博士简介： Dr. David Linton, Senior Lecturer of the Queen’s University of Belfast, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers, a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, a Member of the Institute of Physics and a Chartered Engineer. He is currently Deputy Director of the High Frequency Research Group in Queens within the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT). He is also an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.
